Awesome Gaming Moments & Fails - Razgriz - 15-10-2014 10:18 AM SilentEternity Veterans would definitely know what sort of thread this is, albeit slightly different, but to newcomers... As it says on the tin, you can share your awesome gaming moments and/or fails - be they personal or someone else's. It just has to be a gaming moment, that's all. It doesn't matter if it's through multiplayer or singleplayer, PC or console, text or video. Just share these moments with us. ![]() I'll start off. So today, I was supposed to be on the PS3 instead here typing this thread but whatever. So, I was playing Ace Combat Infinity for the PS3 - a Free-to-Play multi/singleplayer game and just today, a limited Team Deathmatch event began; which was my reason to bother playing today. Unlike the previous TDM event, this one was different. The game mode is called Naval Fleet Assault. It's still a TDM game but instead of racking up points to win the match, the main objective is to destroy the enemy fleet while at the same time, protecting yours. If in the event that time runs out and a team's fleet haven't been destroyed, the match winner is decided through points accumulated. Sounds simple enough, yeah? However, there are a couple of things to look out for. One is attempting to attack the fleet head-on. It's not a good idea. The entire fleet being in a tight formation allows them carpets of anti-air fire - guns and missiles. While you have to look out for that, you'd also have to watch out for enemy fighters (enemy players). I'm not sure if plane armor is a factor but most player planes are shot down with just two missiles - probably regardless of modifications as well. But anyway, I was using an A-10 I got from a special drop (and it's quite a high tiered plane as well) and used it to sacrifice mobility and speed for armor and machine gun damage. Not exactly the best idea but still a bane to slow moving naval ships. So, at the beginning of the match, the first thing I did was head straight for the fleet at medium altitude and began dropping FAEBs at the fleet. I'm not sure if they hit or not because I was already assailed with hails of gun fire and missiles from both ships and planes. After a couple of times being taken down, AWACs reported that missiles were shot down by ship CIWs. So simply launching missiles isn't exactly all you need. after respawning, I focused my missile and gun barrages against any Aegis ship with CIWs. Though at this point, I'm not sure if I actually destroyed any ship. However, I'm pretty sure I've shot down enemy planes and that's considering I'm up against faster and maneuverable jets compared to my slow, hulking beast. I guess my missile upgrades aren't as useless after all in this situation. The second thing to look out for is getting enemy plane kills. While they add to your overall score, getting a certain amount of kills will enable Strategic Fire Support... or whatever it's called (I forgot...). Basically, these events are activated through enemy player kills and are designed to assist you in winning the match. It could be an allied squadron bombing run against the enemy fleet or cruise missiles. During the course of the match, with me being shot down most of the time, I focused on taking the fight to the enemy fleet due to my plane not being designed for dog-fighting. At one point, I found the enemy aircraft carrier and knew what I had to do. That is my primary target. So I focused my low-speed, low-altitude runs on that carrier, launching at least 4 missiles and hosing A-10 gatling fire at it. Its armor is surprisingly thick but I still kept at it. I'm fortunate that none of the enemy planes went after me. I've met some missile fire from the surrounding ships but due to my altitude, I can easily evade them with just some minor maneuvering. In the end, I destroyed the enemy aircraft carrier and won the match for the team, despite how badly it started for us. I was glad to have taken down the carrier myself and won my first TDM match in the game... ... and that was the last of it... for some damned reason, I couldn't connect into any match anymore... Well, a storm had hit us last night so I figured my internet provider is having a hard time getting their shit together. That's all for now, thanks for reading. RE: Awesome Gaming Moments & Fails - Tyle - 15-10-2014 02:32 PM ![]() 59.28 59.28 ;A; RE: Awesome Gaming Moments & Fails - Yurlyn - 15-10-2014 04:48 PM Moved to a new Gaming category ![]() And that's pretty badass, Raz. It's always good to be THAT player who brings your team the victory ![]() Tyle, what game is that? :o RE: Awesome Gaming Moments & Fails - Tyle - 15-10-2014 05:35 PM Oh that one? It's Super Hexagon. [WARNING:will probably make your brain spin] You have to last 60 seconds to complete a level, and as shown, 'Hardestestest' is the highest difficulty in the game (the easiest level starts with difficulty 'hard', by the way). Long story short, I was only 0.72 second away from beating the entire game. So close, yet so far ;A; RE: Awesome Gaming Moments & Fails - Razgriz - 15-10-2014 05:38 PM Thanks Yuii, for also moving the thread. ![]() Also Tyle, I don't have a history of epilepsy but after watching that trailer... I think I have them now. xD RE: Awesome Gaming Moments & Fails - Tyle - 15-10-2014 05:43 PM Warning added, my apologies. RE: Awesome Gaming Moments & Fails - WeAreNobody - 16-10-2014 12:16 AM God that can definitely leave someone with epilepsy but looks fun!So I'm playing Styx: Master of Shadows on the second hardest difficulty, which is a pain in my ass. Fantastic game, I recommend any who enjoy stealth games to pick it up. Anyhoo I'm just sneaking around and trying to find a way to kill all the enemies, because I am a heartless bastard and can't just leave them be. An idea begins to form and I spring in to action. First I run as my main goblin, trying to kite all the enemies into the main room, pretty successful. Once I get them all in there I turn invisible and take shelter on a ledge, and begin my climb to the ceiling. Once there I return control to my clone(whom I spawned earlier and left hidden on the bottom.) with the clone I make a lot of noise and lure them all in the center of the room. Then I return to my character and drop a huge chandelier killing all of them. So many bodies. Simply majestic
RE: Awesome Gaming Moments & Fails - Kurei-Z - 16-10-2014 10:35 AM So I visited a Canadian server not too long ago... RE: Awesome Gaming Moments & Fails - Rainor - 16-10-2014 01:39 PM Game: Red Orchestra 2 So there I was, Ivan, soldier of the Red Army. DP-28 light machinegun in hand, pistol in holster. The germans just took the church and I'm in position to do something about it. I run as low to the ground as I can to the side of the church. They just took it so the position is not secured just yet. I reach the wall and lie down for a second to make sure no one saw me. 10 meters in front of me I see a kraut shooting though a hole in the wall, I aim the machinegun and with one short burst he's down. I make my way into the church though the side entrance and take cover in a small opening in the wall. Just in time as two guys run past me. This is perfect. I point in their general direction and unload, they die shortly. I make my way into the church proper, empty, except one guy that's shooting though a window. He gets shot at and backs up inside, bastard turns around and sees me, machinegun pointing at him. He's so scared he doesn't react, just looks at me like this is bullshit. I squeeze the trigger. Nothing, I shot all my bullets at the entrance, fucking magazine loaded piece of shit I would've preferred a belt-fed more. I reach down to draw my pistol, but too late now, he recovered from his shock and shoots me. Last thing I see is his unit rushing into the church. (That awkward moment when you catch someone by surprise, he thinks he's dead, but you don't have any ammo) RE: Awesome Gaming Moments & Fails - Nogardeci - 21-10-2014 09:13 PM ![]() To hit the knee, you have to be the knee. But everything is great is that picture. Guard: "Excuse me, wtf are you doing?" Companion: "I've seen some shit." Edit: We need some resizing option Yuii! Or automatic resizing. |
