So, this happened to my little brother (the youngest of the twins), whom I let try Hotline Miami - the first game.
At Chapter 6 "Clean Hit", second area...
I have been telling him that there are two ways to go about that area. One is to go straight through the door where four guys were waiting for him. And the other is to go out and around the building from the window, ledge and onto a balcony and get behind the ambush.
So, I told him, if he wants to go through the flashy "John Wick" route, he'd have to run straight in between all four guys and start spraying the moment he's behind them. That's because these guys were expecting him to be right at the door, not running through and getting behind him - they'd had to improvise to that and turn around, giving my brother time to kill them...
... but what happened, after one point he died and had to restart that area... I continued to remind him of that same tactic and then he pointed out...
"There are two guys looking backwards."
That's when I lost it and laughed my ass off, hard.
So, here's the situation: even if he tried running through the ambush and getting behind the four, the two guys looking away will react after and turn earlier to kill him - making void that time window he needed to spray all four.
He tried it anyway and died. After restarting, they are still in that same formation so he was forced to go through the "stealthy" route.
After getting out the window, traversed on the ledge and got on the balcony. He stealth killed one guy outside, picked up a conveniently placed SMG and I gave him another plan.
This time there's a pair of double doors. So I told him to hug the wall by the door to the right, barge in, run in an arch - to attempt to dodge the bullets, get behind the door and hug the wall to the left for cover. So, I meticulously fed him the plan. And when he felt he was ready, he said, "Wish me luck."
He took a deep breath and then...
He barged into the room, started spraying and screaming at the same time, killed two guys. Panicking, he was shooting at the wall and not moving his crosshairs around to get the other two guys. He was gripping my mouse so hard that he accidentally pressed the thumb-button that was assigned for alt-tabbing (I didn't perform some settings to disable it when Hotline Miami is on). So, he alt-tabbed out of the game. I again laughed hard because I thought the game was still running and he died while he panicked, trying to get back into the game. But the moment he got the game window back up, he was automatically shooting and killed the other two guys while they were firing at him. They had shotguns at point-blank range!
And when it was all clear, the two of us laughed long and hard until are guts ached.
I laughed hard again because he did all that in JUST ONE TRY.
After a while, when I explained the whole situation to his twin, the younger twin (who played) then stated that, "I didn't even do the arch."
At this point, I was on the floor, laughing. My stomach couldn't take it anymore.
