RE: Awesome Gaming Moments & Fails
That moment when you spent hours in shaping your character's face and features for the game only to fuck up by accidentally not editing your character's name (Default name: Maxwell... really?), forcing you to start from scratch creating your character...
That pretty much was my afternoon with Dragon Age: Inquisition.

RE: Awesome Gaming Moments & Fails
Playing insurgency.
My whole team dies to a combination of a kamikaze knife runner and a well placed rpg. I, being the lone wolf I am, suddenly find myself the only survivor in a seperate building, having been about to flank them. I realize now that I have an army between me and my objective, with only a long range scoped sniper rifle and a suppressed pistol. I alowly crouch around the corner of a balcony and swiftly take out 3 tangos before being spotted. "Flush him out" I hear as I sprint towards the front entrance of the building. I get there just in time to roll a frag into the door as a group of enemies walk in. Boom.
I dont take time to revel in the moment as I sprint once again through the back door. As I suspected, the other enemies have become more cautious, giving me time to flank with my pistol and unload on a group of 4 sorry terrorists. My gun clicks empty as I hear bullets flying past my head from behind so I duck into the building. Now, knowing im all out of cards to play, prepare for a shootout to the death.
My friend is voice chattig me, trying to tell me about enemies around the corner, but by this point ive gone into a silent zen mode. I throw put all basic insurgencty tactics and begin relying on pure reflex to survive, taking out enemies before my friend can even call them. 1,2,5,10. Numbers rack up until my pistol clicks empty with my sights dead on the last enemy I know of. Without hesitation I draw my knife, get lucky and weave under his first shot, and charge at him with the first sound ive made the whole time. With a roar on the mic, I knife down the last enemy and stand in the bloody piles of my dead enemies. I make my way to the objective and cappture it, securing the team redeploy and ultimately soon after, the game.
Ridiculoualy stressful and my heart was beating way too fast. Insurgency my love

RE: Awesome Gaming Moments & Fails
Playing destiny at my bro's house on a level 28 strike with some randoms. One guy spawns but never moves so me and he other random take off. We're doing great killing everything. We come to a point where one of us has to go down and trigger a defense point so I do while he stays up top and snipes. We clear that bitch out. Keep moving on and we get to the final area and wipe everything out. Then it tells us to trigger the boss spawn and I look at he guy. We're both standing on a high rock and literally just yell "no fuck that. I did the last one, you can do it. I ain't fucking moving." Then I sit down and he jumps to go spawn the boss, then comes back up and slaps me. The boss spawns and we attack him, I jump off and clear out the little minions and then shoot the boss until they respawn. Wears on the bosses last little bit of life and I go down. As I wait to respawn, the guy who didn't move comes out of nowhere and gets me up only to die himself a few seconds later right under the boss. I circle around and dart in, almost dead and get him up. As the boss goes to do a stomp attack I leap into the air and land on a rock. I turn and fire my last rocket, killing the boss and winning the mission.
I was so god damn proud.
We are everywhere and everyone. We are nowhere and nobody. Underneath the mask is nothing and everything.

Yeah. Insurgency doesn't like high pings that much. Still worth a try with me connecting to whatever servers you have there.

RE: Awesome Gaming Moments & Fails
I think I had the most fun on insurgency Ive ever had last night. My friend played as a support class and took the charge of a server. He was issuing orders, using the map, everything. I was our sniper positioning in the best overwatch/killzones. I stayed silent while he commanded. The hook? Everyone listened. Without questioning orders.
We had the team split into fireteams alpha, bravo, and charlie. Charlie was recon, Bravo was our assault group, and Alpha was our overwatch fire support (me and my partner).
We had organized staggered retreats/pushes, well placed explosives, and coordinated movements. When the frontline moved across an open area, the snipers provided covering fire. When snipers started getting shot at, bravo and charlie laid down suppressive fire.
I think the biggest thing was when we told the team to mark their targets allowing me to help them when they were pinned down. Once saved my team in a tight spot by precision fire through cover and walls where the enemy had superior cover, clearing them out. Only possible due to them being marked.
Cant even begin to talk about how many times I was saved from a flank by a very observant charlie team.
Overall, best time Ive ever had on insurgency.
Of course right before this on the same server, we were all playing as a swat team deployed in iraq, using only smoke grenades and pistols. On hardcore mode. We won. While fucking around and laughing so hard.

I seem to have turned one of the beginner servers in PSO2 into a catch-all social zone, and have taken at least a dozen folks both new and old under my wing.

RE: Awesome Gaming Moments & Fails
That moment when you're avenging the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim, my favorite faction by far, and I run across a guard using fire magic. I know, as head canon, I just know that he was one of the ones to set fire to the sancturary. Im about to launch an arrow through the pocket of air within his head where his brain would be, but instead I slow down time and calmy, with exact precision, shoot him in his knee. With the pentup anger of a thousand silent suns, I stalk up to this man, on his knees, and punch the arrow further in with a bash of my bow, proceeding to finish him with a cut to the throat.
Faggit. Serve Sithis in hell.
