Try booting from some form of removable device.

Rain, have you tried it before? My cousin's husband tells me that the process is a bad idea. That it would lead to OS reinstallation - might as well mean I lose all of my data and stuff in my HDD.

Weeeeell, you can use the drive as external hdd and backup the shit you have. It happened to my OS too. But I had a SSD that eventually got bricked so I ended up replacing the hardware :/
The problem you have lies in the startup sequence for Windows. See if you can start in debug and/or Safe Mode (tap F8 repeatedly after your BIOS screen is gone until you are given a menu). Your Windows will start differently (no loading screen but letters instead). If that does not work you'll have to repair your windows using command prompt on your install cd. Let me know when you're this far.

Ahh laptops, bane of my fucking existance. Woke up and decided to power my lovely littlle notebook up and the god damn thing has a pressure crack in the screen that I have no idea how it appeared. Gotta wait till tomorrow to call customer support and find out my warranty probably won't cover it -_-

But Happy Late New Year everyone! Big Grin

Laptops are your best friend as a student and decent if you need the mobility, although with the newer generations of tablets they might lose even that. A desktop outclasses a laptop in so many ways it's not even fair. I've found myself doing all my work/reading/watching stuff from my tablet and only use my laptop to play games (mostly Skyrim).

No cure for fools.

Yeah, my lady's has a tablet that is never used and I've been thinking of commandeering it. Right now I do my reading on my phone/chromecast for my videos, and my writing/gaming on the my laptop. Now though with my pressure crack I game on my laptop but hook it up to my tv so the crack isn't visible. The dream is to build myself a $1000 to $2000 kickass desktop.

Can't access Safe Mode. It's stuck at CLASSPNP.SYS and even when I wait, it reboots itself and starts up normally. I can get into the menu form F8. Not sure about debug though. Damn, should have made a restore point... I attempted repairing the laptop with startup repair. Yes, before you mentioned F8, I already tried some options through it. However, I haven't tried debug yet.

Furthermore, even though I might be able to access Command Prompt, I don't have a reinstall disc or system restore disc.

RE: The Derp Thread
Whoa, okay that's pretty bad but possibly not repairable. Debug mode should be an option in the F8 menu. Also, try turning off the automatic reboot on blue screens. That should be an option in the F8 menu as well.
For the command prompt you don't need a legit copy of Windows. Just see if you can download a copy and burn it to a cd or make a bootable usb stick. Once you boot from it you can choose the repair option and the command prompt option should be there to (I forgot how the menu looks since it has been a few months already but I could look it up). You can run the repair thing from the command prompt (the non-command prompt auto-repair will probably bitch at you about the installed Windows not being the same as the cd version but that's something stupid that will always happen because Microsoft logic).
Let me know if you need more help ^^
